The session provides an overview of the A/B Block Schedule including a brief dialogue on the advantages and disadvantages of this type of scheduling. Participants will also gain an understanding of planning for the block schedule; aligning it with current brain research to maximize learning; and incorporating elements of the universal design for learning in the planning process to ensure that students’ diverse learning needs are met. Activities include developing a model lesson plan for a 90-minute class period and developing strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
