Online Dating Attraction

Purpose:  This study investigates online dating attraction.  You will be asked a series of sociodemographic questions, then will view an online dating profile that will open in a new window. While viewing the profile, you will answer a series of questions about the profile. This study should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

You must be at least 18 years old to participate in this study.

The current study has been approved by Shippensburg University Institutional Review Board. Your survey data will in no way be associated with your identity. In addition, your responses will be kept in the strictest confidence and will be available only to the researchers. You may choose not to withdraw from the study at any time. If you are uncomfortable with any part of the study or have questions regarding the study, you may contact me at wf8665@ship.edu or the Institutional Review Board at irb@ship.edu.

Benefits and Risks of Participation

You will benefit from participating in this study by contributing to the field of psychology and specifically help expand our knowledge on how attraction occurs in online dating. The risks from participating in this study are no more than those occurring in everyday life.
