Description of Baseline Survey

Have you heard about the American College of Nurse-Midwives Healthy Birth InitiativeTM? Twenty hospitals have participated in our effort to reduce primary cesarean births in low risk women through the support of physiologic labor and birth. We are now recruiting for our second round of the multi-hospital collaborative. The first group has already completed 6 months of interdisciplinary activity with great results.

The American College of Nurse-Midwives(ACNM) is asking any interested midwife who attends births in hospitals or birth centers to complete this baseline survey about quality improvement practices at the hospital where they work. All data will be kept confidential and ACNM will only discuss the results of the survey in the aggregate.

Time commitment: 15 minutes for key informant to complete survey

Benefits for your hospital: After completing the baseline assessment your hospital will receive a free copy of “SUPPORTING HEALTHY AND NORMAL PHYSIOLOGIC CHILDBIRTH: A CONSENSUS STATEMENT BY ACNM, MANA, AND NACPM” and copies of our 3 Quality Improvement Bundles!

Completing this survey will provide ACNM with valuable data, which will help shape future ACNM work in RPC.

All hospitals who wish to apply to the Reducing Primary Cesareans 2017 multi-hospital quality improvement learning collaborative must complete this baseline assessment.
