AASF industry systems

* 1. Thank you for completing this survey to lodge your interest in involvement in the NFF Australian Agricultural Sustainability Framework (AASF). 

Following our consultative work in 2020, farmers, investors, domestic and international supply chains reported that sustainability reporting is becoming more complex, costly and difficult for Australian Agriculture. As global commercial and market access demands increase, NFF aim to design the AASF to assess: 

Market drivers / drivers for change
Scientific validity of reporting tools
Feasibility of implementation

The overarching intent is to ensure that existing programs used in the industry can use a common language to provide interoperable tools for reporting, whilst being locally and commercially relevant.

A 6 element workplan has been designed to develop the AASF. In this (the 3rd) element of this workplan: existing producer management/reporting systems programs will be engaged and assessed, in order to achieve the cooperability of these programs. Engagement, harmonization processes and technical system outcomes will be carried out, with contextualization and benchmarking outcomes set by local NRM or other relevant datasets.

NFF aims to thus ensure that participating systems will gain higher value for their participating farmers, and improve the commercial viability and uptake of such systems.
