Growing interest in the Forest-based Bioeconomy presents significant opportunities for communities and business to further develop Ontario’s forest biomass resources (for heat and power, biofuels, biochemicals and biomaterials). As part of the multi-year Ontario Biomass Action Plan the province is building a deeper understanding of the experience and future plans of northern, rural and Indigenous communities in using forest biomass. As such, Suthey Holler Associates is conducting a study for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF), “Forest Biomass Socio-economic impact assessment”.
