USGBC Tennessee is seeking nominations for their statewide Leadership Awards, to be celebrated at the IMPACT Tennessee Conference in Nashville. This year’s awards luncheon will be held at the Wellspire Center from 11:30am-1:00pm on January 30, 2019. The USGBC Tennessee Leadership Awards celebrate building owners and project teams for their extra effort to accomplish LEED® certification for their buildings. LEED-certified spaces use less energy and water, save money for families, businesses and taxpayers, reduce carbon emissions and create a healthier environment for occupants and the community at large.
 
Applications are open for the 2020 awards until November 15, 2019. Project teams with buildings that received a LEED certification between January 1, 2018 and November 1, 2019 may apply for consideration in the following categories. Projects must be located within Tennessee.

Innovative Design, New Construction: For a LEED certified BD+C project that demonstrates use of new technologies and strategies to push the envelope of green design, and meet project challenges in an innovative way.

Innovative Design, Interiors: For a LEED certified ID+C project that demonstrates use of new technologies and strategies to push the envelope of green design, and meet project challenges in an innovative way.

Building Performance: For a LEED certified Existing Buildings project that demonstrates a significant increase in building performance through the implementation of sustainable design solutions.

Tennessee Environments: For a LEED certified project that demonstrates unique design solutions to address the particular climate and site concerns of building in Tennessee, including environmentally responsible landscaping techniques.

Community Champion: For a LEED certified project that addresses the needs of an underserved community, meeting USGBC’s vision of healthy and sustainable buildings for all.

Applications are also open for:

Green Leader: Organization of the Year: For an organization that demonstrates commitment to LEED and ongoing support of USGBC’s mission in Tennessee

Green Leader: Volunteer of the Year: For a USGBC volunteer that demonstrates passion and stewardship of USGBC’s mission in Tennessee

Nominations are due by 7:00pm ET/ 6:00pm CT on Friday, November 15, 2019. Qualified applications will be reviewed by a panel of USGBC Tennessee members and green building experts. Award finalists will be notified by mid-December 2019 and award winners will be announced at the Leadership Awards ceremony.
