LCDC PPN Alternate Environmental Seat Nomination Form September 2017 |
PPN Representative Nomination Form
PLEASE NOTE THIS SEAT IS AN ALTERNATE SEAT IF THE OTHER ENVIRONMENT REPS CANNOT ATTEND THE MEETINGS YOU WILL.
Being a representative on the Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) is a major commitment and is likely to take up a considerable amount of time. The meetings are monthly (with the exception of August) and last 2-3 hours but there is also a requirement that documents are read before the meetings and this would also require 2-3 hours per month. The LCDC meets in Littleton normally at 10am the third Monday of every month. The representative may also be asked to sit on LCDC subcommittees which would meet quarterly and they may have to attend training or national events from time to time.
The person will have to sign a code of ethics and declare any conflict of interest where relevant. The nominee will have the responsibility of being involved in decisions with regard to major funding coming into the county through SICAP, The Rural Development Strategy, The Rural Economic Development Zones etc. Therefore the rep should have a strategic focus, an understanding of national policies in relation to rural and community development and have an interest in the sustainable development of the county as a whole.
