The Office of the Arts welcomes performing artists who would like to be perform at outdoor public space activations. In order to be invited to participate, interested parties must submit a proposal. The Office is committed to a fair and transparent process for providing opportunities for participation by artists.  
 
The criteria for inclusion are: 
  • Availability 
  • For artists: artistic excellence and quality of work samples 
  • Capable of creating work, performing, or vending outdoors
  • Commitment to engaging the community

Musicians will be invited to perform no more than two shows per fiscal year. 
 
Preference is given to applicants within a 50 mile radius of the City of Alexandria in the event of a tie between applicants.
