About the Survey

Birkbeck strives to help its students become more entrepreneurial and employable throughout their time with us. This academic year the university has held a number of campus based events which aimed to better understand the needs of students and to help them develop the skills needed to start or grow their own business.

During this academic year we learned students were not always able to attend the events we had planned mainly because of so many competing demands on their time. We also learned students interested in this area were at varying stages of their journey and it wasn't always possible for us to address their individual needs. Finally, students made it clear what they really needed was better access to the relevant networks and people who could help them to progress their business idea.

To address students' concerns Birkbeck are currently working closely with Monkfeet, an online platform that provides both in person workshops and video courses on practical skills in business and enterprise. Monkfeet brings together top industry professionals and executives to teach practical, results-focused skills in topics such as Business Model Development, Digital Marketing, Presentation skills, Negotiation, Hiring and Developing product and technology, among others.

From end of May until end of July Birkbeck are offering a trial of the platform to 30 students who would have access to free skills on demand (video courses) as well as subsidised access to a number of in person workshops.

Before the trial starts, we would like to ask you a few brief questions so we can better understand what makes the best learning experience for you and what help and advice you require to launch/grow your own business or become more employable.

Please could you take 5 minutes to fill in the following survey. Students who complete the survey will be considered for the trial.
