Name of Co-investigator(s): Dr Ruth Teh and Dr Fiona Moir
Name of Student Researcher: Sridhar Maddela
Introduction
This study is designed to investigate how yoga use impacts the quality of life in New Zealand. This study may help us to better understand yoga use in New Zealand because there is very little research on the use of yoga in this country. I would like to ask you, as a registered yoga instructor, to take part in the study. You are free not to take part without having to give any reason.
Participation
Participation involves you, first, self-completing an online questionnaire within the next two weeks on the socio-demographics of the yoga workforce in New Zealand. The questionnaire will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.
Secondly, you are asked to invite your new yoga students aged 16 years and above to consider taking part in the study. New students are students who have begun to practice yoga within the last three months. Their participation will involve them completing two questionnaires within four weeks, and then a further questionnaire at three months and nine months respectively. Your participation is entirely voluntary. You are free not to take part without having to give any reason.

Risks and benefits
All results will be aggregated to protect your anonymity while potentially showing how the health expectations, education, and experiences of yoga users influence their health-related quality of life.
