Kingston Hydro, your electricity distribution provider in Central Kingston, has contracted with Utilities Kingston to manage, operate and maintain the electricity assets as part of Kingston's unique multi-utility model.
Kingston Hydro is now preparing a cost of service application for rates effective January 1, 2028, as part of the Ontario Energy Board’s process for reviewing electricity distribution rates. This helps ensure electricity rates are fair and transparent, while continuing to support safe, reliable service for our community.
As part of this work, and on behalf of Kingston Hydro, Utilities Kingston is gathering input to better understand your needs, experiences, and priorities. Your feedback will help guide long-term planning, including how we manage growth, set our budget, and balance affordability, reliability, customer service, and future needs.
This phase of engagement is focused on listening and learning. We’ll use what we hear to help shape our plans, and in fall 2026 we’ll share those plans and gather additional input.
