Grove Field Airport Master Plan: Online Listening Session

Ward Grove, a local pilot, developed the airstrip north of Camas in 1945. Originally a grass runway bordered by fir trees to the west and an orchard to the east, the airfield reflected both the landscape and the spirit of early aviation. The Port purchased the airport in 1962, and Ward continued to serve as its caretaker for many years. In 1984, the Port renamed the airport “Grove Field” in his honor – recognizing a legacy that continues today in this thriving, community-focused airfield.

The Port of Camas-Washougal is beginning the Airport Master Plan process for Grove Field. This effort will align with FAA standards, industry best practices, and community priorities while establishing a long-term vision for airport operations, infrastructure, and future growth.

We invite you to share your perspective on the airport. This is an opportunity to reflect on and share your experiences, how the airport connects to your life, and what matters most to you.

Your input will inform how we shape the first open house and guide the development of meaningful activities that support the creation of community-driven goals for the Grove Field Airport Master Plan.
