Promeus and SickKids Hospital have been actively engaged in advancing equity, diversity and inclusion in the recruitment and selection process. To understand the diversity of applicants and the representativeness of the talent pool, SickKids is encouraging candidates to participate in a self-identification survey. This self-identification survey includes questions related to groups who have been historically systemically oppressed and marginalized in the Canadian workforce, specifically the four groups designated by Canada’s Employment Equity Act and the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. The survey is voluntary; you can choose not to respond to any question, and your responses will be kept confidential. Your responses will not be tied to your application, nor will they be used in consideration for your employment.

Aggregate or disaggregate results will be shared with relevant members of the SickKids’ HR leadership team, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Office, and Analytics team to support SickKids in creating an inclusive and safer recruitment experience. A report of aggregate results may also be shared with the Selection Committee to support a safer recruitment experience. SickKids recognizes that historically systemically oppressed and marginalized groups, and individuals with various intersectional identities, experience unique barriers in entering the workforce. Results will provide a better understanding of these barriers as well as inform advancement on the 2025 SickKids EDI Strategy and related EDI commitments (including but not limited to the BlackNorth Pledge and Ontario Health’s Equity, Inclusion, Diversity and Anti-Racism Framework). We greatly appreciate your support in undertaking this valuable endeavour, but also appreciate that these questions are sensitive in nature. We understand if you choose not to participate in the survey.
