Samriddhi Colloquium - Economic Growth and Wealth Creation

The colloquium will see 16-20 participants who understand and believe in the role of reading/learning and active dialogues in shaping societies, spend two days discussing selected classical liberal texts with an experienced and knowledgeable moderator. The event will encourage exploration of ideas through informal, yet serious, discussion among a small group of individuals from a range of disciplines and expertise. Participants will be shared a list of articles around the theme which they will have to have mandatorily read before the program. 

The essence of the colloquium lies in the civil discourse that is cultivated in an atmosphere of learned fellowship shared among colleagues. 

What is in it for a participant?
- A participant will have an access to works of a wide array of  classical liberal thinkers
- S/he will have a platform to learn about alternative ideas to common development narratives
- S/he will have a platform for intellectual engagements
- S/he will gain an access to a network of intellectual minds across Nepal
- S/he will be equipped with ideas to contribute to contemporary policy discourses through an alternative lens
- S/he will gain an access to other events of Samriddhi Foundation

What should a participant expect?

- A reading list that will consist of around 30 readers (from short essays, journal articles to chapters from classical liberal texts) that participants will have to have read prior to the colloquium
- An informal, yet serious, engaging, deliberative, and thought-provoking sessions on the ideas expressed on the readers

When: September 14-16, 2018

Where: Nagarkot.

Application deadline: July 20, 2018 (Friday). Applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis until this date.

Cost: Free of Cost + Travel to the event. Organisers will cover shared lodging and meals plus all training materials.
