Course Title:  Deep Injection Chemical Grout Seminar  - 1 PDH

Speaker: Tony Alfano, ME, Chair, ASCE North Jersey - COPRI, Ground Works Solutions, Inc. | Project Engineer NY/NJ.

Objective: To Educate Professional, Civil, Environmental, and Geotechnical Engineers on chemical deep injection processes for marine, infrastructure, commercial, and residential applications.

Materials Used: PowerPoint presentation with supplemental hand outs and chemically treated soil samples.
Description:
This course will review the technical specifications of the URETEK chemical grout and its application on soil stabilization. The course will discuss the chemical reaction and the effect on temperature and pressure as it applied to various soil conditions. The chemical injection effectiveness and limitations will be discussed at various depths from 3 feet to 50 feet below grade.  We will discuss our solution for the following applications:

* sub-terrain void fill and high rise underpinning.
* seawall, bulkhead, ground water and injectable barrier containment.
* culvert, spillway, and sewer and dam repair.
* soil stabilization for bridge approaches and rail ballast.
* slab lifting.
* Samples of chemically treated soil will be handed out to show its inert effect on the environment as well as its strength/weight ratio.
We will review case studies on chemical grouting applications using national infrastructure, commercial, and residential cases. Technical calculations, timelines, safety, logistics and cost savings will be analyzed for each case study to check for feasibility. The course will conclude with a Q&A session for comparisons to current and historical projects for the attendees.
