There is an ongoing and acute need to address a dearth of affordable housing options. The current approach to financing is not unlocking supply for cohorts that are increasingly vulnerable. There is an opportunity for philanthropy to play a greater role in fit-for-purpose solutions, and also test new ideas and support their financial and social track record, unlocking other private and public capital for replication and scaling.

Sefa, with support from the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation, is keen to explore “how might we use collaborations and partnerships to allow philanthropy to make a significant contribution to the affordable housing market?” Your responses to these questions will help us better understand where you as philanthropists consider there to be opportunities to contribute to addressing the affordable housing crisis, as well as what barriers exist that limit your ability to provide funding for this thematic area.

We are interested to learn from organisations / individuals that are actively engaged in the affordable housing ecosystem as well as those who do not currently allocate funding to this sector. We very much appreciate the time you take to respond to this survey.
