They will join an outstanding group of researchers who exemplify our theme of Inspiring Hope through Research.

The NAMI Scientific Research Award is supported by the Peter Corbin Kohn Endowment. The Award recognizes the work of researchers who move our scientific understanding and treatment of mental illness forward. NAMI remains deeply committed to research as part of our mission and is excited to showcase the work of Drs. Daumit and Evins at our hybrid in-person and live-streaming event on Oct. 6, 2021.

The 2021 Scientific Research Award lecture will be held in the National Press Club's Holeman Lounge and the reception and award presentation for this event will take place in the National Press Club's Ballroom. This year, we will also be hosting this event virtually.

All capacity restrictions in D.C. have officially been lifted as of June 11, which includes entertainment and meeting venues.  

Recent guidance from the Government of the District of Columbia also dictates that vaccinated people do not need to wear masks in any setting, indoors or outdoors. This guidance also states that "unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, or immunocompromised and not fully protected by the vaccine" persons are required to continue follow precautions such as social distancing and wearing a facecloth in both indoor and outdoor settings.
