Multicultural Stoles and Reception

The Multicultural Graduation Reception is a free hallmark event for the academic semester. In collaboration with International Student Services, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion will host families, friends, faculty, staff, and the community to celebrate graduating students from all multicultural and underrepresented backgrounds. This program will present multicultural stoles, recognition of students’ involvement, and time to reflect on their experiences at Northwest.

Multicultural Stole: Multicultural Stole-represents ALL students Black, Hispanic/Latinx, Asian, Asian-Pacific Islander, American Indian, Multiracial identities, etc.

Black/African American Stole: Kente Stole- African, African American, Black identities.

Hispanic/Latin(x) Stole: Serape Stole (Hispanic/Latin(x) identities)

Native Stole: Indigenous/Native tribes and heritage.

Lavender Stole: LGBTQ+ identities
