Your neighbor, Kansas, is asking your help to pass the PT Licensure Compact in their state. All states surrounding Kansas are now in the compact and we really want to be in it too! Our main barrier is that Kansas requires proof of malpractice insurance to hold a license as a physical therapist. Your state, like most others, does not have this requirement. We are gathering data to describe the industry standard that as professionals, we carry malpractice insurance to protect our practice whether that is services covered by third party payer reimbursement or in the provision of cash- based services. Please answer the following two questions by 9/30/18, to help the Kansas Physical Therapy Association and all our neighbors who may want compact PT/PTA privileges in Kansas.
