Consultation 33 - Patient Record Retention

Background information

The Patient Record Retention standard was last updated in 2016. We propose changing the title to “Patient Record Management” to reflect the breadth of the document. The proposed amendments align record retention and management requirements with new legislative expectations for records relating to non-plan services and electronic health information.

The survey consists of 8 questions, 3 of which are demographic in nature, and should take approximately 5 minutes to complete. It will be easiest to respond to after reading the draft standard (e.g., rationale for edits/inclusions, references/citations, and definitions can be found in the document).

The current standard and consultation page, where you will find clean and marked versions, are linked below:

· Current standard
· Clean version of the draft (with rationale in comments)
· Marked version of the draft (lined comparison with current version with rationale in comments)

Feedback is compiled, themed and additional edits are considered when finalizing the draft for Council to review and approve for implementation.
