Operation Aware partners young aspiring artists with local professional artists for Operation Art! Students and local artists dream up, plan, and create a piece of art, together. This art will be displayed and sold to benefit Operation Aware’s youth prevention program. This is free for students. We invite students in 3rd-12th grades to apply by COMPLETING THIS SURVEY.
Expectations:
1. Each student will come to five Wednesday evening work sessions: 5-8pm on Feb 13, Feb 20, Feb 27, March 6 and March 13 in Midtown Tulsa at Sanctuary Church.
2. Each student will be matched with an adult Artist to be mentored and complete a finished work of art to be sold. The goal is for a finished fine art piece that is gallery quality. Mediums include, but are not limited to, tracing, spray paint, sketch, charcoal, paint, and watercolor.
3. Each student will be asked to consent to pictures.
4. The art pieces will be auctioned off at our Gala at The Mayo Hotel on April 26th.
5. All finished artwork belongs to Operation Aware for charitable purposes. Parents sometimes elect to purchase the art piece at our gala.
