Consultation 33 - Dual Practice

Background information

The Dual Practice standard was developed to establish professional expectations for regulated members who provide publicly funded insured health services and/or privately funded non-Plan services. This new standard includes directions on how to ensure clinical decisions are based on patient needs over financial considerations with an emphasis on managing conflicts of interest, supporting equitable access to insured health services and keeping continuity of care at the forefront.

The survey consists of 8 questions, 3 of which are demographic in nature, and should take approximately 5 minutes to complete. It will be easiest to respond to after reading the draft standard (e.g., rationale for edits/inclusions, references/citations, and definitions can be found in the document).

The consultation page, where you will find the draft version of the standard are linked below:

Feedback is compiled, themed and additional edits are considered when finalizing the draft for Council to review and approve for implementation.
