Consultation 33 - Patient Ordered Testing

Background information

This new standard establishes professional expectations for regulated members involved in providing patient-ordered preventative diagnostic imaging. It addresses assessing whether a requested test is clinically appropriate before it is performed; ensuring patients receive information about benefits, risks and all associated costs; and clearly stating requirements for communicating results and appropriate follow-up care.

The survey consists of 8 questions, 3 of which are demographic in nature, and should take approximately 5 minutes to complete. It will be easiest to respond to after reading the draft standard (e.g., rationale for edits/inclusions, references/citations, and definitions can be found in the document).

The consultation page, where you will find the draft version, is linked below:

Feedback is compiled, themed and additional edits are considered when finalizing the draft for Council to review and approve for implementation.
