You're invited.

We want to hear from you! We invite you to share your thoughts on the development of a key solution to disaster response.

We are running the MakerNet project, www.makernet.global, which aims to create open source digital platforms to support distributed manufacturing of key supplies for humanitarian relief and for development. We want these platforms to reflect your needs and invite you to share your thoughts!

For this survey, the potential maker/designer functional use cases for this platform discussion are:
In-progress designs: search for design problem, search for design solution/file, design viewing & modifying, design sharing & discussion, version control, tagging, licensing/IP, collaboration, find geographical info on prototyping machine/equipment availability, find people with maker skills to collaborate with.

Thank you!

* 1. Do you collaborate with others in your design and making activities, using online tools? Do you collaborate with people remotely on design work? What tools work well for you?

* 2. What do you find frustrating about online design collaboration and sharing? Do you have needs or wishes which current online tools and platforms do not support? If so, what are they?

* 3. What content and information would you like to have access to, which you do not have today? For example, machine & equipment specs of local maker spaces, design problem context (use case & requirements), peer profiles & contacts, etc.

* 4. Thinking about the Makepedia idea - What features would be important to you? (ex. open source, multiple file conversion, discussion)

* 5. Have you taken part in design or making to support humanitarian or development work? If so, was this to support activity locally, or somewhere else? What worked well, and what could have gone better?

* 6. If you use an existing design sharing or collaboration platform, which one(s)?

* 7. Have you taken part in a design challenge or competition before (ex. through Grabcad, Instructables, Thingiverse etc)? What motivated you to do this? What was your experience with the process (briefing, submission, judging)?

* 8. What do you like and not like about these design platform(s)?

* 9. Other thoughts you’d like to share?

* 10. At what email address would you like to be contacted? (To stay in touch. We will only send out occasional updates and information about design opportunities.)
