APIASF Macy's Emergency Fund 2018 |
Overview and Minimum Eligibility Criteria
The APIASF/Macy's Emergency Fund is a scholarship award of up to $500 meant to alleviate financial barriers to persistence or graduation. Funds are awarded directly to the Scholar.
APIASF/Macy's Emergency Fund Eligibility Criteria:
- All applicants must be APIASF Scholars or Alumni
- Be enrolling as a full-time, degree-seeking, undergraduate senior at an accredited U.S. college or university
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Must apply for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Must have a demonstrated financial crisis hindering persistence or graduation. Applicants must submit a budget detailing amount of funds required along with supporting documentation. A demonstrated financial crisis could include the following:
- Change in family income or support
- Loss of income
- Death of an immediate family member
- Natural disaster
- Pending eviction or home foreclosure
- Burglary
- Fire
- Unexpected financial expense
