The City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department is gathering public input for a “pilot program” to expand Silent Sunday-type activities in South Mountain Park/Preserve.

Currently, Silent Sunday is held on the fourth Sunday of every month. On those days, the park’s roadways are closed to motor vehicle traffic from 5 a.m. to park closure time, reserving them for non-motorized activities – walking, cycling, jogging, hiking, etc. Visit the South Mountain Park/Preserve webpage for more information about Silent Sunday and the park's five-year infrastructure improvement project that began in 2017.

The intent of this survey is to involve park users in a discussion to determine appropriate days and times to potentially extend Silent Sunday-type activities.
