Town of Bethlehem Compost Survey 2016-17

As you know, Bethlehem already composts our yard waste very successfully. This year, our pilot project aims to divert food scraps from the landfill too!

We hope to accomplish this through a combination of:

1) Testing the "Aerated Static Pile" method of composting food scraps in combination with yard waste (successfully completed! See the results)

2) Education and resources to support more backyard composting (including a bulk/discounted composter sale planned for April 2018! Those who complete this survey and include at least an email address will be updated with details.)

3) Community "drop spots" for residents to drop off food scraps, which will then be brought by the private hauler to be composted at the Town facility (idea is still under development; we're putting together a focus group to help discuss the idea).
