New York Association of Training & Employment Professionals' 2018 Workshop Proposal Application

NYATEP's 2018 Fall Conference, The Intersection of Postsecondary Education, Workforce, and Economic Development , will feature up to 20 workshops and "quick shops" on October 9-11, 2018. We are seeking proposals that are engaging, meet the needs of attendees, highlight current best practices, and provides practical tools and solutions.  We look forward to your submissions!

WORKSHOP & QUICK SHOP REQUIREMENTS
Quick Shops: 45 minute sessions aimed at providing a quick or narrow overview of tools and techniques.  Specifically we are looking for Quick Shops focused on operational aspects (e.g. social media policies, employee performance tools, designing a workshop flyer, etc.) or specific aspects of a program management or design (e.g intake forms, business outreach scripts, etc.)
Workshops: 75 minute traditional workshops that enable attendees to take a deep dive into a specific issue or topic; typically includes interactive presentations, hands on learning and/or panel discussions.

Both Workshops and Quick Shops must:
- Leave enough time for audience participation/discussion (peer learning is incredibly valuable to attendees)
- Contain clearly stated, practical learning objectives
- Contain content that is reflective of the session description;  Note:  NYATEP reserves the right to modify the descriptions that will be printed in conference materials; and will inform the presenters when doing so.
- Utilize knowledgable presenters
- Provide reference materials or other handouts to participants

AUDIO VISUAL EQUIPMENT
NYATEP will provide a projector, AV cart, screen, and Wifi. Presenters must bring their own laptop, phone line, and video equipment. If you utilize a MAC computer, please bring appropriate cables.

SESSION MATERIALS
The presentation and/or workshop materials are due (via email to mmack@nyatep.org) to the NYATEP office by September 28, 2018 at 4:00PM. Your session materials will be posted to the conference website for attendee download.  In addition, presenters are responsible for bringing their own presentation copies; please bring 50 copies of any materials for your session.

PRESENTER INFORMATION
All presenters are expected to register for the conference and are responsible for their travel expenses. Presenters coming in for the day will be charged the “day rate” of $250, with no discounts. Presenters staying for the full conference will be offered a special “Presenter Rate” (the lowest conference rate) of $450. To register, please go to www.nyatep.org. We ask that sessions have no more than three presenters.

Bio, Picture, and Twitter Name:
Presenter bios, photos and Twitter names will be provided in the conference materials. You will be asked to include brief bio(s) and high quality JPEG pictures for each presenter within the application. We will ask for your photo, brief bio and twitter handle by September 1.

Sample Speaker Bio: "John Doe is a senior web programmer at Company X with experience coding in five languages and a passion for usability and information-sharing. He is loves his work and helping clients.  John graduated with a degree in Computer Science from MIT."
