PLEASE NOTE ALL PLACES FOR 2017 COURSE HAVE BEEN TAKEN. THE NEXT COURSE WILL BE AT THE START OF THE 2018 WINTER SEASON. 
ONCE YOU REGISTER YOU WILL BE CONTACTED WHEN THE INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE, A COURSE IS AT THE START OF EACH SEASON. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE STADIUM FOR INFORMATION, IT WILL BE SENT OUT ONCE THE COURSE IS CONFIRMED BY THE PRESENTER.

· Knowledge of Basketball rules and the sport
· Enthusiastic and passionate about the sport.
· Working with Children's Check(18years old+)
· Prior experience advantage.

FAQ

Q. How long does the course take?
A. There are four theory sessions and four on court sessions.

Q. Do I have to attend all theory sessions?
A. Yes, all sessions are compulsory to pass the course.

Q. What happens when I finish the course?
A. You will be graded as an apprentice referee, where if you are able enough can referee alone or continue with a mentor next to you.

Q. How much will I get paid and when do I earn money?
A. Pay rates are set by Basketball Victoria and are available from www.vbra.basketball.net.au when you referee alone and not with a mentor you will be paid an apprentice rate. 

Q. How long until I can get my 1C?
A. All depends on how well you go on court, and apply all of the information in the course to a suitable standard.

Q. Is there a minimum age?
A. Referees must be 14 years old to do the course.

Q. What type of working with children's check do I need?
A. A volunteer check is all you need and is free to apply for.

Q. I just want to do the course and referee at another association, is this ok?
A. Yes as long as you make this aware to the Referee Advisor when you register your interest.
