The WWPS Uniform Review Committee is seeking your input into a review that is currently underway. The Department of Education’s School Uniform Policy states that a school’s uniform, “… should include items that are affordable, comfortable, made from easy-care fabrics, appropriate for activity and suitable for all body shapes.” It also notes that, “Each school's uniform requirements should be reviewed when the need arises.”

The major concern of this review is whether or not to discontinue certain items. There are three main reasons for considering these changes:

1. To improve the visual/aesthetic consistency of our uniform, particularly when students are representing our school in the community.
2. To enable all students to access a full range of physical activities without compromising their range of movement or their modesty.
3. To streamline the operations of the uniform shop by reducing the number of items they are required to stock and thereby reducing the funds ‘tied up’ in unsold stock at any point in time.

Please be assured that if any items are discontinued, there will be a three year changeover period during which students will be allowed to wear any of the discontinued lines. Discontinued items of clothing will continue to be sold by the uniform shop until there are no longer any more of these items left in stock. Once stocks are exhausted they will not be re-stocked and will then no longer be available from the uniform shop. Second-hand items may still be available informally during that time.

PLEASE COMPLETE THIS SURVEY ONLY ONCE PER FAMILY.
