PERSONAL PROFILE
Skilled and highly-motivated nurse with 3 years of hands-on experience in the NICU. I will be graduating in December 2018 from the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program from Emory University with a MSN. I hope to provide care to patients who may be diagnosed with congenital defects, delivery complications, and/or prematurity as a practitioner.

I am sending this letter of intent for the position of Vice President in our organization (UAPRN) United Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Atlanta Chapter. My credentials and experience match the requirements of the Vice President position.
I have worked as a Registered Nurse for 12 years and 2 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I have been a member of UAPRN for one year. I completed my Undergraduate Studies at Emory University (2004) and my Master’s degree at Walden University (2015). I’ve served as Second Vice President of Jack and Jill of America Inc., Greater North Atlanta Chapter in 2008-2010. I continued to serve on the Executive Board as Parliamentarian and Co Programming Director in subsequent years. I current serve as our Community Service Chair.

Sharon Henderson, MSN, AGNP, DNP Student

Sharon is a board-certified adult-gerontology nurse practitioner. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA; a Master of Science in Nursing degree from University of Alabama at Birmingham as a clinical nurse specialist, adult health; a post-master’s certificate in adult-gerontology nurse practitioner from Georgia State University and is now a DNP student at Georgia State. Sharon currently works as a nurse practitioner in the Geriatrics and Palliative Care department at Kaiser Permanente.

Sharon has served on the board of directors of the Georgia Gerontology Society and served on various committees of the National Gerontological Nursing Association. She is also a member of the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association.
Sharon is highly committed to the goals of UAPRN and is excited to serve the organization and the Atlanta chapter in any capacity.
