Welcome!
Thank you for considering serving as a volunteer with ASHRM! The society could not be a success without dedicated volunteers and we greatly appreciate all of the work that they do. We strive to make your volunteer experience meaningful. This survey includes a tentative listing of ASHRM's 2019 committees and task forces. The final listing may change slightly and other work groups may be formed if needed to respond to emerging issues. The application deadline is July 19, 2019 at 11:59pm CT.
About Volunteering
Volunteers must be current ASHRM members. Because we typically have more volunteers than positions open, we need to ensure that those appointed are able to participate. Appointments to committees and task forces are for a two-year term beginning January 1, 2020. Volunteers actively participate in the work of the group, provide thoughtful input to deliberations, focus on the best interests of ASHRM and its membership, and work toward accomplishing the committee’s goals.
Appointment Process
Volunteers are appointed by the ASHRM President, but report to the chair of their respective committee/task force on day-to-day activities. The process for appointing new committee members values diversity including: region, roles, risk management experience, specific training (RN, JD, etc.), types of organizations, committee/task force experience. In prior years, ASHRM has been fortunate to have many more volunteers than positions available for them. If you are not appointed it may not be because you are not qualified but may be due to the current composition of the committee/task force. We strongly encourage those who are not appointed to please apply again next year.
