Exploring Innovative Approaches in Family Day Care Survey Background The Productivity Commission’s recent national review into early childhood education and care highlighted the need to explore innovative and flexible approaches in family day care that can improve families’ access to child care to meet their specific needs, particularly for those living in regional and underserved communities. Family Day Care Australia (FDCA) is also exploring innovative approaches in delivering family day care in regional communities as part of the Family Day Care Capability Trial that FDCA is implementing with funding from the Australian Government Department of Education.What is this survey about?Through this survey, FDCA is gathering information and insights from the family day care sector to: Establish a national picture of innovative models of family day care currently being delivered in Australia (e.g. in-venue care, community partnerships, multi-care arrangements), or that have been delivered in the past, to inform further consultation with services Identify the issues, barriers and enablers of innovative family day care provision, with a special focus on regional locations Explore the level of interest from family day care services in exploring innovative models of family day care in the future Identify examples of successful innovative family day care models to inform a set of case studies We appreciate your time in responding to this survey, which should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.
