If you would like to nominate yourself, please do the following:
1. Remind yourself of what members of the community of Q are expecting of their council:
- They want to have a say in the council’s mandate. As a member of council, you will be drafting a mandate that meets the priorities listed above. You will also likely need to be ready to pivot, as priorities shift over time and with additional input from the community.
- They are excited about the opportunity for advocacy as well as more collaboration and communication among Q members. You will be working with your fellow council members to translate these concepts into reality and may also be asked to explain exactly how you are doing that.
- They want their council to communicate. You will be a channel for information to flow back and forth between the AFHTO leadership and the Q, and for communication to flow among members of the Q.
- They expect the position of council leader to rotate among the council members. You will be working with your fellow council members to figure out to do this and how to fit it into all the work you already do.
2. Remind yourself about the impact of this on your workload. You will be meeting regularly to respond to all the priorities and expectations of your community. And you will need to balance your workload with that of your fellow council members.
3. Check with your ED. You will need their support in this new and exciting role.
4. Talk to your peers. Find out what other QIDSS, QIIMS, coaches, and QIDSS-like folks want to see from the council.
5. Complete this survey by 9am on Monday, January 7. We’ll use your answers to populate the ballot.
