The Propel NY Energy team is reaching out to you because your business has been identified as abutting or being located near the planned route of construction for the transmission line project. We would like to understand how the construction could impact your business in an effort to minimize impacts. If your business has multiple locations, please respond based just on the location near the planned transmission line route.
What is Propel NY Energy?
Propel NY Energy is the collaboration of two trusted leaders in the New York energy industry — New York Power Authority (NYPA) and New York Transco — to install a 90-mile underground electric transmission line. This new infrastructure project will bolster grid reliability and resiliency while creating new pathways to deliver energy into the statewide electric grid through system improvements on parts of Long Island, and in New York City and Westchester County. What is the timeline for the project?
The project is currently in the permitting phase. Pending necessary approvals, construction is anticipated to begin in mid-2026 and continue through mid-2030. Construction will be completed in phases and will not impact any one given area for the entire duration of the four-year construction timeline.
