JOIN THE AGE-FRIENDLY PRIDE MOVEMENT!

Are you committed to making your Pride events welcoming to people of all ages?

The Welcome to Pride Initiative, created by SAGE with the generous support of AARP, is a partnership with SAGE, Centerlink, Heritage of Pride, InterPride, and the Center for Black Equity. We have launched Welcome to Pride to share how Pride organizers are making Pride celebrations across the country increasingly more age-friendly. An age-friendly world enables people of all ages to actively participate in community activities and treats everyone with respect, regardless of their age.[i]

Organizations wishing to publicly affirm their commitment to maintaining or increasing the age-friendliness of their events, are encouraged to sign the Age-Friendly Pride Pledge.

Want to be one of the first 100 organizations to sign on? It’s simple!

CHECKLIST OF AGE-FRIENDLY PRIDE PRACTICES

Using the check boxes below, select at least three age-friendly practices your organization or group will implement in 2018. Your selections can be all in one category or distributed throughout. The following framework is based on The World Health Organization’s domains of Age-Friendly Communities. However, age is just one part of a larger commitment to embracing the diversity of our community. For this initiative, we focus on age with the full knowledge that we are part of something larger.
