The non-profit Porta Sophia is on a mission to protect the public domain, stimulate innovation, and support good patents to assure psychedelic therapies can one day be available at scale to the people who need them.

As part of our mission, we review all U.S. and international patents/applications referencing psychedelic compounds. We have seen a trend of claiming psychedelic derivatives through R-group substitutions on a core structure, known as a Markush structure. Our new Chemical Derivative Search Tool is designed to enhance prior art analysis by enabling users to efficiently explore psychedelic derivative structures. This tool helps patent examiners, researchers, investors, and legal experts efficiently explore and identify known psychedelic derivatives.

Your feedback will help us improve the tool’s usability and impact. Thank you for taking the time to participate!
