First let us thank you for your participation at the Plant Phenotype Workshop in last year’s PAG conference. During the workshop, TAIR, MaizeGDB, Soybase, SGN, Oryzabase, and Maize Crop Ontology reported phenotype related resources and tools. This year we will invite six speakers and several panelists to share their new developments in high-throughput phenotype analysis, phenotyping infrastructure, plant ontology, phenotype ontology, and informatics tools.
From last year’s feedback, this year we would like to open 15-20 minutes for the discussions between the audience and the panelists toward the end of the workshop. Here is the workshop agenda:
Featured talks (in order)
8:10 Sean May "If you build it.....(NASC phenomics)"
8:30 Matt Vaughn "iPlant's cyberinfrastructure for high-throughput image analysis"
8:50 Richard Poire "Next generation plant biofuel research and the High Resolution Plant Phenomics Centre"
9:10 Geoff Fincher "Evaluation of next generation phenotyping: the Australian Plant Phenomics Facility"
UPDATES, Wrap-up and discussion
9:20 Laurel Cooper "Plant Ontology"
9:25 Eva Huala "RCN Phenotype Ontology Plants, animals, etc."
9:30 Elizabeth Arnoud "Crop Ontology update"
9:35 Chi-Ren Shyu "Next generation phenotype data mining update" and wrap-up/survey discussion.

Please spend a few moments of your precious time to help us make productive discussions in the upcoming PAG 2011 Plant Genotype Workshop, Sunday, January 16, 2011 from 8:00 am to 10:10am in Pacific Salon 1 Room. We would greatly appreciate if you would complete the accompanying brief survey which should take less than 15 minutes by Saturday (January 15, 2011) noon.
We are looking forward to meeting you.
