Peckham Business Survey 2026: Priorities & BID Feasibility

Why we’re asking:

Peckham Business Forum is testing the initial appetite for establishing a Business Improvement District (BID) in Peckham.

A BID is a business-led initiative that, if supported, could bring sustainable funding into the area to deliver long-term improvements. We're exploring this as one option to help strengthen the high street, support local businesses, and create a thriving environment for everyone who works, shops, and visits here.

This survey is your chance to tell us:

● What’s working and what’s not in Peckham
● What improvements you’d prioritise with additional funding into the area
● Whether you would support the idea of a BID in principle

Your answers will directly inform whether we proceed with a BID Feasibility Study, the first formal step in exploring this option.

It takes around 5–6 minutes to complete. Thank you for sharing your views.

What is a Business Improvement District (BID)?

A BID is a business-led and funded initiative where businesses in a defined area collectively invest in improvements. If approved through a democratic vote (ballot), all eligible businesses pay a small levy (typically 1–2% of their rateable value), which funds services and projects chosen by local businesses.

BIDs operate alongside, not instead of, council services, and can fund improvements like events, safety, marketing, cleaning, and business support.

Over 330 BIDs exist across the UK, including Bermondsey, Better Bankside, London Bridge, Brixton and more, delivering real improvements for their areas.
