* 1. I would like to invite you to participate in an Internet survey that asks questions about: the meaning of parenthood in later life; your experiences, as either a parent or the child of a parent in later life; and the norms governing late-life parenting in your community.

Participation in this study is voluntary. You can choose not to take part and you can also choose not to finish the survey or to omit any question you prefer not to answer. Your completion of the questionnaire will serve as consent to participate. There are no significant risks to participation. Most people find that the survey takes 15 to 20 minutes to complete. At the end of the survey you will be invited to give your email address in case you want to volunteer for an interview or receive a copy of the findings. This is the only place where we will ask for identifying information, and to protect the confidentiality of your responses this information will be stored separately. All identifying information will be destroyed upon completion of the study.

If you have any questions, concerns, or complaints or if you feel you have been harmed by this research please contact: Amanda Barusch, College of Social Work, University of Utah, at (801) 581-7585 between 9 and 5 Monday through Friday.
