Parent and Carer Exclusion Experience Survey

Help Us Improve Support for Children, Young People and Families

We know that having a child suspended, excluded, or experiencing a period away from school can be a challenging and stressful time for children, young people and their families.

As part of Lewisham's commitment to improving inclusion and ensuring that every child and young person has the opportunity to thrive, we would like to hear about your experience. We want to understand what worked well, what could have been better, and how schools and services can improve support for families in the future.

We are particularly interested in understanding:

Whether you felt informed and supported throughout the process.
Whether your child's needs were understood.
Whether you and your child felt listened to and involved in decision-making.
What helped your child return successfully to education.
What inclusion looks and feels like for children, young people and families.
Your feedback will help us improve communication, strengthen support for families, develop more inclusive practices, and ensure that parents and carers have a meaningful voice in decisions about their child's education.

There are no right or wrong answers. We welcome both positive and negative experiences and appreciate you taking the time to share your views.

The survey should take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.
