Welcome Future Parent Champions!

Thank you for your interest in the Parent Champion position, a part of the North Natomas TMA's Walk and Bike to School Program. Each of the eight elementary schools in the North Natomas boundary area has a Parent Champion who works to achieve the vision of a lasting culture of walking and biking to school in our area.

We are currently accepting applications for the following schools:
Witter Ranch Elementary
Westlake Charter School
 
Role of Parent Champion
The role of the Parent Champion (PC) is to assist the NNTMA in implementing project activities at each school, while being the main point person on campus to facilitate frequent communication between NNTMA staff and the school communities. PC's will receive ample training in planning and executing established program activities and are encouraged to be creative in developing new ways to grow the program at their school site.

Qualifications
We're looking for people interested in joining our current team of active and engaged PC's for the 2018-2019 school year. Qualifications for future Parent Champions include:
  • Be an engaged community member or parent/guardian of a student enrolled for the coming school year, at the school for which you are applying.
  • Be able to devote a minimum of 6 hours per week to the effort.
  • Be a supporter for walking and biking.
  • Be able to establish rapport with school staff and parents.
