Introduction

The City of Paramount is working hard to create a healthy, safe and environmentally-responsible  community for all of our residents to enjoy. As part of this effort, the city is developing a Climate Action and Resilience Plan (CARP), to help us understand our climate impacts and what we can do to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. Greenhouse gas emissions are gases that trap heat and make the earth warmer than usual. Even a little extra warming may cause problems for humans, plants, and animals.
Just like all cities in California are very different, the ways that we can reduce our greenhouse gas emissions can also be different in every community. The City of Paramount has environmental challenges because of our location to freeways and industry, but we also have a lot of opportunities, in part because of the people who live here. Your values, efforts and choices will help the city decide how to fund and prioritize projects and programs that help us reduce greenhouse gas emissions in our community.

Please take 10 minutes to give us your opinion on how we can tackle greenhouse gases in our community.
