Introduction

Dear entrepreneur,

In response to the outbreak of COVID-19, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) and the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) have launched a research project to grasp SMEs' situation since 2020. As you may recall, the first-round survey was conducted in several Asian countries, including Pakistan, between August-September 2020. It provided critical information and data, allowing us to objectively illustrate severe impacts of COVID-19 on SMEs and identify critical areas needing further assistance.

As the COVID-19 pandemic situation continues to evolve, we are carrying out the second-round survey in January 2021. We are requesting the same respondents to participate in this second-round online survey, which will enable tracking of SMEs' evolving situation more effectively. Also, we welcome new respondents to grasp other dimensions of the impacts.

The collected data will be analyzed statistically by APO and ADBI, and the anonymous, aggregated results will be published by them. Please be assured that the data is strictly confidential and never used for any other purpose.

It takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete this questionnaire. Your cooperation will help us support businesses more effectively and help the Asian Development Bank (ADB) explore possible assistance to SMEs devastated by COVID-19.

Thank You.

Sincerely,

Hashim Raza
