2020/21 priorities

Southern Biosecurity Group are seeking your input into the priority activities for the 2020/21 financial year.

In 2019/20 we’re working on the following:
·         Wild dog control
·         Rabbit control
·         Building skills and knowledge

What is biosecurity?
Biosecurity means protection from the adverse effect an organism has or may have on:
·        another organism
·         a human being
·         the environment, or part of the environment
·         agricultural activities, fishing activities, or related commercial activities.

Under the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management Act, landholders are required to control declared pests on their property.  However, effective control of well established and highly mobile species is best conducted at a strategic level with strong partnership arrangements that support individual landholders.

That’s what Southern Biosecurity Group is here to do.
