Animal Services - Provides professional animal care including education, compliance, adoptions and disease preventions along with enforcing City ordinances and State laws governing animals. Athletic Programs - Provides a variety of year-round youth and adult athletic programs including individual and league sports, clinics, camps, lessons and tournaments. Building Inspection - Enforces codes that regulate and control the design, construction, quality of materials, use and occupancy, location and maintenance of buildings and structures within the City. City Pools - City operated pools including Strawberry Waterpark, Red Bluff Pool, Sunset Pool, and three splash pads. Operates during the summer. Offers open swim, reservations, aquatics programs and special events. Code Enforcement - Monitors and ensures compliance with the City codes to maintain a safe, clean and disease-free environment for Pasadena citizens. Communications and Marketing - Inform the public about city programs, services, and events through a resident newsletter, city website, social media, and the broadcast of City Council meetings, plus other public education tools and community affairs activities. Economic Development - Retention and expansion of new and existing Pasadena businesses. Emergency Management - Addresses mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery to natural disasters or other situations in the City. Engineering - Makes certain all infrastructure projects with the City are designed and constructed in accordance with the City Ordinances and accepted engineering practices and approved specifications. Fire Services - Responds to incidents to minimize the loss of life and property. Enforces fire codes through plan review and inspections. Health Services - Enforces health and sanitation codes for the City including conducting inspections of food service, child and adult care centers, public and private schools and public and semi-public swimming pools. Historical Preservation - Increases awareness of the City's historic heritage through educational activities, development of programs and policies related to the preservation and commemoration of significant places, and events and implementation of specific preservation activities. Library - Provides reference and research services to the residents of Pasadena while also serving as the main repository of materials. Median and Right of Way Maintenance - Personnel responsible for the maintenance and mowing of drainage channel vegetation, medians, and right-of-way maintenance. Municipal Golf Course - The Pasadena Municipal Golf Course is a municipal course owned and operated by the City of Pasadena. It is an 18-hole golf course that is provided to the public at an affordable rate and also host programs and special events. Municipal Court - The Municipal Court is responsible for processing citations issued by Police Officers, Code Enforcement Officers, Animal Control Officers, and Fire Marshals. This includes maintaining all records related to these citations, processing payments, setting trial dockets, issuing subpoenas and issuing warrants. Neighborhood Network Program - Engages and connects Pasadena residents to participate in maintaining safe and suitable neighborhoods, administers neighborhood grants, and organizes community-wide engagement events. Other Special Events - The City offers several special events throughout the year including Fourth Fest, Monster Mash, Christmas Tree Lighting, Can Do Food Drive, Fill the Bus, Coffee with a Cop, Trunk or Treat, Team Up to Clean Up, and more. Park Operations - Professional grounds maintenance of City parks, building sites, athletic fields, playgrounds, picnic facilities, swimming pools, recreation center landscapes, drainage channel vegetation, medians, and right-of-way maintenance. Planning - Assists policy-makers in managing growth and redevelopment and implement land use and development regulations. Supports the Planning Commission. Police Patrol and Traffic Services - Primary responder of all accidents, criminal complaints, traffic violations and domestic programs. Uniformed police presence in the community to detect and prevent criminal activity. Recreation Centers and Programs - Operations and programming for the City's recreation centers including Odell, Rusk, Fogo, Golden Acres, and Verne Cox Multipurpose Center. A variety of recreational classes and special activities are offered at the centers for children and adults. Senior Center - A recreational facility for adults 50+ and offers activities and special events. Solid Waste Collection - Residential municipal solid waste collection twice weekly along with residential recycling program. Street Maintenance - Maintenance and repair of concrete and asphalt streets, concrete alleys, handicap ramps, sidewalks, bridges and culverts. Summer Camp Programs - Camp Crush and Camp Kaboom are offered during the summertime for children ages 6 to 14 years. Traffic Engineering - Design, maintenance and operation of all traffic control devices in the City. Utilities - Responsible for overseeing the efficient delivery of water and sewer utility service to all residents, customers and users of the utility system.
