24-Credit Requirement Planning Survey -- High School Families

In 2014, the Washington State Board of Education recommended, and the Legislature passed, a bill changing the state’s high school graduation requirements.

The changes, which will start with the class of 2021 (this year’s seventh graders), include:

1. Earning 24 credits to graduate from high school instead of 21
2. A more extensive High School and Beyond Plan to guide students’ course decisions
3. More flexibility for students to follow a personalized pathway to meet the graduation requirements

Visit our 24-Credit Task Force webpage for more information.

Two committees are investigating how Seattle high schools can meet these requirements in a way that ensures high quality teaching and learning and increased academic engagement and achievement for all students.

Because you have a student (or students) in high school, the committees would like your feedback on some of the issues related to this change.
Note:
- If you have more than one student in high school, please answer the questions thinking about just one of your students. You may take the survey again for each additional high school student.
- Families of middle or elementary students should take the middle school survey.
- The survey should take roughly 10 minutes.
- Please complete by Wednesday, March 30, 2016.

Thank you for your time.
