The East Morgan County Library District recently received a grant through the Buell Foundation to help caregivers of kids who are Family, Friends or Neighbors (FFN) to provide resources to enhance the quality of care for those they are watching.  We would like to know how best to use our funds to provide for the early literacy needs of Family, Friends or Neighbors (FFN) in our community.

Following is a survey to help us know what your needs are so we can use the funds to the best of our ability.  Please answer the questions you are comfortable with, providing the best input you can.  Thank you for your time.

* 1. Does a Friend, family member or neighbor (FFN)  provide child care for your family when you are at work?  Or are you an FFN who watches children?

* 2. Do you bring the kids in your care to the library?  If not, what has prevented you from doing so?

* 3. If we were able to provide transportation from your location to the library for Storytime or other early literacy programs, would you use it?

* 4. If kits were available to check out, what types of themes/topics would be helpful?  What type of educational recources would be useful?  For example: educational toys, books, crafts, music, etc.

* 5. If we provided music for your use, would you use a CD or digital subscription?

* 6. In what ways has the library been most useful or helpful to your needs or wants?

* 7. If the sky was the limit, what would you like to see more of?  For example: more educational toys, books in different locations, more of a specific type of book, etc.

* 8. We would like to provide useful programing for you.  What times of day and what days work the best?

* 9. Which of the following programs would you find the most helpful?

* 10. If you received information to keep at home to use with the child/children in your care, what types of items would you find the most helpful?

* 11. Do you have other thoughts or comments?
