Bill Groups

Each Bill Group is required to complete this form. There should be at least 2 but no more than 4 Legislators in each bill group. The Senate Sponsor will be placed in the Senate, and will introduce and speak for the bill in the Senate and in committees. The House Sponsor in the House at Assembly, and will introduce and speak for the bill in the House and in committees. Co-Sponsors will be placed in either chamber, and will assist the Senate and House sponsors when needed, for example with research, or answering questions, or filling in when either of those sponsors can not speak for the bill on the floor or in committee. For the Pre-Leg sessions, all members of the bill group will attend the committee where the bill is assigned. HOWEVER, in Springfield, only the Senate and House sponsors are in the committee with the bill; co-sponsors are not, and will be assigned to other committees.

Please be sure that your bill topic wasn't passed at the 2018 Assembly; a booklet of the bills passed at the 2018 Assembly is available on the website (right click to open link in new tab). There is also a list available in the Legislator handbook. Also, please keep in mind these bills are seen by people outside of the Youth and Government program, so frivolous and/or inappropriate bills may be denied, and you will be asked to come up with a different bill.

Please submit this form by the First Registration Deadline. After that deadline, an advisor will have to contact the office to access the form.
