* 1. Welcome to the Application for Oregon Summer Star 2017's Cabin Leader corps! Please note that filling out this online form is the first step of a two-step process to apply for a position with us. The second is an in-person interview:

Drop in from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM (please arrive before 12:30 PM to allow time to interview)

This form will give us basic information and allow us to ask you more in-depth questions when we meet you in person. It is very important to us that we are able to meet you and discuss our program in person. Generally speaking, we will hire out of applicants that can join us at the interview, rather than those who have a phone interview.

With this in mind, please indicate whether you will be joining us at our Cabin Leader interviews or need to request a phone interview prior to May 21:

* 2. The Cabin Leader (CL) at Oregon Summer Star is directly responsible for participant safety, well being, and enjoyment of the program. While participants are on site, CL's will be held accountable for participants and are expected to engage them in the programming that is created by Senior Staff. They are responsible for running a cabin with youth ages 8-17, as well as teaching a Field Study curriculum (topics TBD). The CL sets an example for participants in every aspect of camp, as well as agreeing to take on a mentor role for our volunteer Associate Counselors (AC's), who will be in cabins as a counselor in training. The CL finds ways to create a camp community that is supportive, active, and engaged. They report directly to a Cabin Area Manager and a Field Instructor, who will provide thoughtful feedback on how to improve leadership style and best support our participants.

The Cabin Leader position is on site from June 24 - June 30 at Camp Cascade ( 33806 N Fork Rd, Lyons, OR 97358). Please be sure you are available for the entirety of these dates before applying for a CL position.
